Hector Loria guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Henry Villegas might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexander Peña. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Peña came out of the goal and Jose Lankaster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexander Peña made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvin Moya in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvin Moya got free with Alexander Peña in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th minute, LOBOS FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jose Lankaster fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Alexander Peña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Lankaster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the game, Guido Carazo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
