The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Zancudo's Wilmer Ledezma in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Napoleon Rivera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cartucho Team's goalkeeper Ronald Gamboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cartucho Team's Ronald Gamboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilmer Ledezma in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manrique Arrieta in the 29th minute of play forced Zancudo's goalkeeper Brian Caballero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cartucho Team's Angelin Thome shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Brian Caballero but with some difficulty. Bernie Cantillo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronald Gamboa having to make a save. If Wilmer Ledezma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernie Cantillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronald Gamboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilmer Ledezma in the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilmer Ledezma in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronald Gamboa saved Cartucho Team from getting behind. 44 minutes into the match, Zancudo's goal looked a bit too open when Manrique Arrieta came free, but Brian Caballero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Manrique Arrieta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brian Caballero, 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilmer Ledezma to strike the kick off in the second half. Wilmer Ledezma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronald Gamboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Bernie Cantillo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ronald Gamboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zancudo. The supporters of Zancudo booed when Cartucho Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Lankaster didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 64 in the game by Wilmer Ledezma from a close distance when the talented Ronald Gamboa managed to make a qualified save. Cartucho Team's players were relieved. In the 69th minute Manrique Arrieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Caballero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute Rene Hurtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald Gamboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilmer Ledezmas short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Ronald Gamboa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 81st minute, Rafa Lankaster made a precise shot to the right of Brian Caballero. Zancudo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Wilmer Ledezma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald Gamboa having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Wilmer Ledezma put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ronald Gamboa. The Cartucho Team players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
