With a little luck, UIR Alajuela's Ulises Sanchez got control of the ball when Angelin Gallo tried to sneak it across the goal line. UIR Alajuela's Ulises Sanchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Picado in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, UIR Alajuela's Estebe Besim got a free kick in the 31st minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Angelin Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angelin Gallo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulises Sanchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Picado in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Limon FC booed when UIR Alajuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Matarrita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Raul Lara sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and UIR Alajuela's Ulises Sanchez didn't even have to move. In the 41stth minute of the game Julio Picado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UIR Alajuela's Ulises Sanchez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Darien Castillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franklin Duran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

After having played for 74 minutes, Julio Picado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The UIR Alajuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulises Sanchez should have stopped the shot. Limon FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
