Despite a couple of nice moves Fabian Martinez's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Rogelio Guadamuz was beeing forced to shoot. Mariano Lehman hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Julio Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabian Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

After a rather tough play, Fútbol Club Barcelona's Mariano Lehman got a free kick in the 54th minute. Cobano AFC's Alexis Castillo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fabian Martinez but with some difficulty. Edgar Arroyo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. When Alexis Castillo came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cobano AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexis Castillo couldn't finish the play. Fútbol Club Barcelona made a substitution. Martin Redondo replaced Edgar Arroyo. Mariano Lehman's late challenge caught a Cobano AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Lehman helped the player get up and apologised. Mainor Conejo struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Alvin Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fútbol Club Barcelona.
