In the 15th minute, Ave Fenix's Ronald Villalobos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabian Martinez. Fabian Martinez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 19 minutes into the game, Ronald Villalobos threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fútbol Club Barcelona's Mariano Lehman quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Hector Tenorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josue Talamanca having to interfere. After some careless play in the Fútbol Club Barcelona defense, Cid Leiton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabian Martinez. The Fútbol Club Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabian Martinez should have stopped the shot. 47 minutes into the game, Tito Cordero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ave Fenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fútbol Club Barcelona the free kick. After 47 played minutes Ave Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Tito Cordero.

Hector Tenorio fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 57th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. 58 minutes into the match, Fútbol Club Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Obando came free, but Fabian Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fidel Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Hector Tenorio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Villafranca kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Ronald Villalobos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Fidel Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fútbol Club Barcelona's supporters rose to their feet, but Fidel Garcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josue Talamanca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilberto Obando scored 4-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabian Martinez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ave Fenix had played much better football throughout.
