In the 5th match minute, Momo Colo C.F was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Figueroa to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Vega charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddy Vega the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. David Loaiza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Gaitan, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Momo Colo C.F's David Loaiza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oldemar Duarte in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Club Nacional de Football's goal looked a bit too open when Irvin Quiros came free, but Eric Mena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Loaiza made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Gerardo Heredia sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Momo Colo C.F's David Loaiza got control of the ball when Gerardo Heredia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eric Mena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irvin Quiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Nacional de Football's Eric Mena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irvin Quiros in the 33rd minute of play. David Loaiza was a little too slow when Oldemar Duarte got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 1-0. 46 minutes into the match, Momo Colo C.F's Irvin Quiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Mena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gerardo Heredia charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerardo Heredia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Momo Colo C.F booed when Club Nacional de Football was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Heredia didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irvin Quiros made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Club Nacional de Football's Mainor Cantillo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute Uriel Quesada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Mena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Momo Colo C.F's zone, Gerardo Heredia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Loaiza came out of the goal and Gerardo Heredia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Loaiza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oldemar Duarte in the 61st minute of play. In the 69th minute, Walter Figueroa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Mikael Cubero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Nacional de Football's Eric Mena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irvin Quiros in the 73rd minute of play. Irvin Quiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Mena having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Heredia in the 76th minute of play forced Momo Colo C.F's goalkeeper David Loaiza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Momo Colo C.F's goal looked a bit too open when Oldemar Duarte came free, but David Loaiza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Mainor Cantillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Loaiza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Momo Colo C.F's Anacleto Chaverri got a free kick in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Gerardo Heredia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Loaiza. Momo Colo C.F's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerardo Heredia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Club Nacional de Football were victorious despite being under pressure from Momo Colo C.F for much of the match.
