Iwo Fronczak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oldemar Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Leopardos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oldemar Duarte came free, but Iwo Fronczak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Mena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Herrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Club Nacional de Football's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Chaclar came free, but Eric Mena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Medina might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Mena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Medina ran back to his position shaking his head. After 14 minutes of play, Club Nacional de Football's Gerardo Heredia made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iwo Fronczak was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reynaldo Chaclar charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reynaldo Chaclar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Reynaldo Chaclar hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Nacional de Football's zone, Roy Herrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Mena came out of the goal and Roy Herrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miguel Medina succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 27th playminute. A hard shot 29 in the game by Miguel Medina from a close distance when the talented Eric Mena managed to make a qualified save. Club Nacional de Football's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Leopardos FC's Roy Herrera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eric Mena. That made the score 2-1 after 31 minutes of play. Eric Mena made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Miguel Medina sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th match minute, Leopardos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Umaña to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 39 minutes into the game, when Fabio Umaña put in a rough tackle. Oldemar Duarte walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Iwo Fronczak didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerardo Heredia went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score.

The wind increased when Miguel Medina made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Miguel Medina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Medina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reynaldo Chaclar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Mena having to interfere. Iwo Fronczak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Heredia in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Leopardos FC's goalkeeper Iwo Fronczak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerardo Heredia. The throw-in from Eladio Villalobos in the 87th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Leopardos FC's Michael Granados. In the 89th minute, Gerardo Heredia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iwo Fronczak. The goal made the score 2-3. A hard shot by Fabio Gaitan from long distance, 96 minutes into the match, got Iwo Fronczak's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Iwo Fronczak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oldemar Duarte in the 98th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Club Nacional de Football walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
