After 17 minutes of play, SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC's Benito Jarquin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elmer Arrieta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Valentin Heredia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. In the 34th minute Valentin Heredia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elmer Arrieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SPORTING SAN JOSÉ FC booed when Pingones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berny Echeverri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Heredia to make the kick off. Pingones FC's Elmer Arrieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milan Antoš in the 52nd minute of play. Benito Jarquin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elmer Arrieta came out and tried to block the shot, but Benito Jarquin slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Pingones FC's Andrei Paniagua got a free kick in the 58th minute. Pingones FC's Buenaventura Peña was substituted for Luis Mejias. In the 59th minute, Andrei Paniagua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elmer Arrieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milan Antoš in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Benito Jarquin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elmer Arrieta, 0-6. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pingones FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty!
