Elvis Borbon didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 16th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Kenneth Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tito Hernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berny Guevara, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Platanillo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Berny Guevara came free, but Tito Hernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Liberia getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Carlos Orlich hit a great ball. The supporters of Platanillo AFC booed when Liberia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Sibaja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liberia's Berny Guevara got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franklin Parra was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Jonny Matarrita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liberia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonny Matarrita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Peralta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvis Borbon having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Liberia's Jonny Matarrita got a free kick in the 60th minute. Kenneth Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Liberia booed when Platanillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Orozco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tito Hernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berny Guevara in the 75th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Tito Hernandez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 87 played minutes Berny Guevara rounded Platanillo AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. Miguel Godinez hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Liberia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
