Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Berny Guevara kicked off to start the match. Elvis Borbon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Martinez went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 8 played minutes Liberia got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Sibaja. Elvis Borbon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Masis's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. The audience was convinced that Fidel Masis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elvis Borbon was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Berny Guevara hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Freddy Camacho during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Liberia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Camacho to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Rio Grande Club de fútbol getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Heriberto Sarmiento hit a great ball. Celsinho Schmidt made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Humberto Sibaja sent off a good shot on target. Luis Padilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvis Borbon having to interfere. Luis Padilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fidel Masis was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Luis Padilla made a precise shot to the right of Elvis Borbon. Liberia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berny Guevara in the 56th minute of play forced Rio Grande Club de fútbol's goalkeeper Celsinho Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liberia's Elvis Borbon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Masis in the 61st minute of play. Elvis Borbon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Masis in the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Liberia's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Masis came free, but Elvis Borbon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddy Camacho kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luis Padilla got free with Elvis Borbon in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fidel Masis in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvis Borbon saved Liberia from getting behind. Elvis Borbon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Martinez in the 81st minute. Berny Guevara hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The supporters of Rio Grande Club de fútbol booed when Liberia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Viquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Miguel Martinez sped through Liberia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elvis Borbon. Rio Grande Club de fútbol played a much better game than Liberia and deserved their victory. The Liberia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
