Elvis Borbon made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Andrei Paniagua sent off a good shot on target. Andrei Paniagua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pingones FC's Elmer Arrieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Sibaja in the 15th minute of play. Elmer Arrieta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonny Matarrita in the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Berny Guevara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elmer Arrieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Liberia booed when Pingones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Oses didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Michael Oses was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pingones FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liberia the free kick. After 22 played minutes Pingones FC got a freekick which was hit by Michael Oses. Liberia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Giovanni Paniagua scored to the left of an out of position Elvis Borbon, making the score, 1-0. 29 minutes into the match, Andrei Paniagua notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Liberia's Elvis Borbon. Elvis Borbon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Giovanni Paniagua managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pingones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Paniagua was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elvis Borbon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michael Oses hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Giovanni Paniagua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Elvis Borbon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Paniagua struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Elvis Borbon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pingones FC. Pingones FC made a substitution. Buenaventura Peña replaced Manuel Vanderlat. A collision led to Liberia getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jonny Matarrita hit a great ball. Giovanni Paniagua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Giovanni Paniagua might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elvis Borbon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giovanni Paniagua ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Sibaja got free with Elmer Arrieta in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 61 minutes into the match, Liberia's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanni Paniagua came free, but Elvis Borbon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Giovanni Paniagua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elmer Arrieta made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Humberto Sibaja sent off a good shot on target. 67 minutes into the match, Jonny Matarrita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elmer Arrieta, 2-1. Giovanni Paniagua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giovanni Paniagua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvis Borbon having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Pingones FC's goalkeeper Elmer Arrieta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Sibaja. Elmer Arrieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Sibaja in the 80th minute of play. When Salvador Mata came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Pingones FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Mata couldn't finish the play. In the 87th match minute, Liberia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Viquez to maneuver through the defense. When Buenaventura Peña fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pingones FC's protests and gave Buenaventura Peña a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th minute, Buenaventura Peña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 played minutes Pingones FC got a freekick which was hit by Luis Mejias.
