Emilio Umaña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tito Hernandez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nacho Carvajal in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Emilio Umaña cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Tito Hernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Nacho Carvajal managed to get in a good position for a shot. raniza fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Nacho Carvajal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tito Hernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Orozco's late challenge caught a raniza fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Orozco helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of raniza fc booed when Platanillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Orozco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nacho Carvajal had several of the Platanillo AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 19 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Tito Hernandez as he didn't even see the shot coming. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Peralta in the 22nd minute of play forced raniza fc's goalkeeper Fabian Solano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Alexander Saborio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Platanillo AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nacho Carvajal 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Javier Arroyo took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Tito Hernandez to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nacho Carvajal was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Nacho Carvajal made a precise shot to the right of Tito Hernandez. Platanillo AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. If Javier Arroyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tito Hernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nacho Carvajal, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Nacho Carvajal put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tito Hernandez. A hard shot by Tulio Santamaria from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Fabian Solano's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Benito Peralta succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 6-1 in the 69th playminute. Tito Hernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nacho Carvajal in the 75th minute of the match. Emilio Umaña took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tito Hernandez. Tito Hernandez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. In the 94th minute of the match, Benito Peralta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fabian Solano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabricio Garro in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tito Hernandez saved Platanillo AFC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice moves Benito Peralta could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which Fabian Solano however easily saved by the left post.
