After 17 minutes of play, Platanillo AFC's Benito Peralta made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Willy Oreamuno was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Platanillo AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Franklin Parra hit a great ball. Elvis Brenes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franklin Parra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Oreamuno having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Platanillo AFC's zone, Elvis Brenes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tito Hernandez came out of the goal and Elvis Brenes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Elvis Brenes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tito Hernandez was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Franklin Parra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Agustin Calderon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvaro Alfaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tito Hernandez. The referee ignored Platanillo AFC's protests and gave Miguel Godinez a yellow card for diving instead. Miguel Godinez kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When Elvis Brenes got free in front of the goal in the 43rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Tito Hernandez was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Franklin Parra made the kick off in the second half. Agustin Calderon kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. GALÁCTICOS FC's Alvaro Alfaro shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tito Hernandez but with some difficulty. In the 58th minute, Benito Peralta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Willy Oreamuno was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 60 minutes, Benito Peralta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Platanillo AFC and the GALÁCTICOS FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 61 played minutes Platanillo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Benito Peralta. Tito Hernandez was a little too slow when Anibal Martinez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 2-1. Franklin Parra hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Elvis Brenes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Platanillo AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Anibal Martinez scored to the left of an out of position Tito Hernandez, making the score, 2-2. If Elvis Brenes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elvis Brenes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Hernandez having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Franklin Parra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willy Oreamuno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willy Oreamuno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Peralta in the 95th minute of play. The GALÁCTICOS FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Platanillo AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
