Club Nacional de Football's Eric Mena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Peralta in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Oldemar Duarte recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tito Hernandez. Oldemar Duarte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Tito Hernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oldemar Duarte in the 21st minute of the match. Gerardo Heredia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tito Hernandez having to make a save. Mikael Cubero kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. If Fabio Gaitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Club Nacional de Football's Oldemar Duarte in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Platanillo AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Fabio Gaitan succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 45th playminute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Franklin Parra made the kick off in the second half. Eric Mena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin Parra in the 55th minute of play. A very good chance. Gerardo Heredia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tito Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oldemar Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Hernandez having to interfere. The supporters of Club Nacional de Football booed when Platanillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Orozco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Mena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Parra in the 76th minute of the match. Tito Hernandez came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Nacional de Football's Oldemar Duarte. But to his dismay, Oldemar Duarte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Oldemar Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fabio Gaitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Club Nacional de Football's Oldemar Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tito Hernandez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eric Mena made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Benito Peralta sent off a good shot on target. Club Nacional de Football walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
