In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liberia's goalkeeper Elvis Borbon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nacho Carvajal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabian Solano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nacho Carvajal in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvis Borbon saved Liberia from getting behind. Liberia's Elvis Borbon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Umaña in the 70th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Nacho Carvajal put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Elvis Borbon.
