The crowd rose to their feet as Nicoya's Buenaventura Naranjo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Antonio Merino. That made the score 0-6 after 90 minutes of play. Celso Mora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Antonio Merino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buenaventura Naranjo scored 0-7 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Merino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Nicoya could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sport Herediano Frances throughout the match.
