The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pastor Barrionuevo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manel Pages, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Buenazurda FC's Matthew Coca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Carrandi in the 5th minute of play. Miguel Nanclares struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Matthew Coca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Washa FC. 16 minutes into the match, Washa FC's Rosario Carrandi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matthew Coca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pastor Barrionuevo was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Manel Pages capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manel Pages really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Washa FC's Rosario Carrandi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matthew Coca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute Rosario Carrandi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Coca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Buenazurda FC got a freekick which was hit by Cedro Vivera. In the 29th minute, Rosario Carrandi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manel Pages sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Rosario Carrandi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rosario Carrandi to make the kick off. Higinio Contero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Matthew Coca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, Buenazurda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rosario Carrandi came free, but Matthew Coca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pastor Barrionuevo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Arruda's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After 59 played minutes Washa FC got a freekick which was hit by Policarpio Reina. The crowd rose to their feet as Rosario Carrandi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matthew Coca. That made the score 1-1 in the 67 minute of play. After 72 minutes, Luken Maceira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buenazurda FC and the Washa FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Washa FC booed when Buenazurda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luken Maceira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pastor Barrionuevo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Arruda's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manel Pages in the 78th minute of play forced Washa FC's goalkeeper Pastor Barrionuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rosario Carrandi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Rosario Carrandi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Washa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rosario Carrandi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthew Coca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rosario Carrandi in the 85th minute of play forced Buenazurda FC's goalkeeper Matthew Coca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Buenazurda FC's Manel Pages nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pastor Barrionuevo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Buenazurda FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Washa FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
