In the 10th minute, Bruno Bracho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ertan Gagauz struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Pietro Batalle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Peru's Carlos Alberto Hidalgo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. James Ojero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliverios Antoñana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabino Guislas short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Pietro Batalle to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gabino Guisla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pietro Batalle having to interfere. Oliverios Antoñana scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of James Ojero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Gabino Guisla slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pietro Batalle. That made the score 2-1 after 27 minutes of play. If Ertan Gagauz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. James Ojero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliverios Antoñana in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Peru's Ertan Gagauz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. After some careless play in the Corio defense, Ertan Gagauz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pietro Batalle. The Corio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pietro Batalle should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Corio's zone, Ertan Gagauz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pietro Batalle came out of the goal and Ertan Gagauz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Pietro Batalle came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Carlos Alberto Hidalgo. But to his dismay, Carlos Alberto Hidalgo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. 63 minutes into the match, Corio's goal looked a bit too open when Gabino Guisla came free, but Pietro Batalle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pietro Batalle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bras Villoldo went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. 68 minutes into the game, Ertan Gagauz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Pietro Batalle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's Mario Trilla was substituted for Patrido Camudio. After 73 minutes, Mario Trilla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peru and the Corio players grew even worse after the yellow card. Larra Cimbrelo fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 75th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliverios Antoñana in the 77th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper James Ojero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Birila Cardoso in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pietro Batalle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Birila Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 88 minutes, Carlos Alberto Hidalgo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pietro Batalle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ertan Gagauz struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Pietro Batalle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Peru's James Ojero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Balaguer in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Peru had played much better football throughout.
