Zeledon Masses might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guillelmus Quadros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zeledon Masses ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Huancayo's Gaufred Sala got a free kick in the 46th minute. Lico Villodas kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. In the 50th minute of the match, Sein Toledano sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Rosalio Luey showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lamberto Paris was the one to do the kick off. Huancayo were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Turpay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sein Toledano took the corner. In the 56th match minute, Turpay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazuste Carabajo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Turpay getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Videl Ordas hit a great ball. Rosalio Luey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cris Navagos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Huancayo's Lamberto Paris nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rosalio Luey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Lamberto Paris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Rosalio Luey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mazuste Carabajo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Turpay's Bahiano Pujol got a free kick in the 87th minute. Bahiano Pujol was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 89 played minutes Turpay got a freekick which was hit by Bahiano Pujol. 93 minutes into the match, Turpay's goal looked a bit too open when Lamberto Paris came free, but Rosalio Luey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mazuste Carabajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
