The referee showed Lizar Belaustegui the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lizar Belaustegui hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Basajaun Valencina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Che Gustros. Che Gustros might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basajaun Valencina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Che Gustros ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15thth minute of the game Victor Aberasturi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting Cristal's Basajaun Valencina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 18 played minutes Laramarca got a freekick which was hit by Joey Alexandro. Bertran Inda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustin Fitado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neto Romano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Bertran Inda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Laramarca's goal looked a bit too open when Neto Romano came free, but Bertran Inda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laramarca's Bertran Inda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Pozuelos in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Dacio Goñi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Cristal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 33rd minute Dacio Goñi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertran Inda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Che Gustros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basajaun Valencina having to interfere. The supporters of Laramarca booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chayo Fontano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Laramarca's Lizar Belaustegui broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Victor Aberasturi came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Laramarca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Aberasturi couldn't finish the play. Basajaun Valencina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Che Gustros in the 43rd minute. Victor Aberasturi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Basajaun Valencina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Neto Romano to make the kick off. Basajaun Valencina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Che Gustros, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Laramarca's Bertran Inda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Laramarca from getting a goal against them. Ourente Orozco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Basajaun Valencina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sporting Cristal getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Dacio Goñi hit a great ball. Basajaun Valencina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joey Alexandro in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Victor Aberasturi notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Sporting Cristal's Basajaun Valencina. Basajaun Valencina was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Che Gustros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Victor Aberasturi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Che Gustros in the 74th minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Basajaun Valencina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laramarca's Bertran Inda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dacio Goñi in the 75th minute of play. Juvenal Pozuelos took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bertran Inda. Bertran Inda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Che Gustros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basajaun Valencina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Che Gustros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the game, Ourente Orozco threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sporting Cristal's Agustin Fitado quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Victor Aberasturi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, Sporting Cristal's goal looked a bit too open when Che Gustros came free, but Basajaun Valencina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
