Ordono Masses might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phelipe Bezares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ordono Masses ran back to his position shaking his head. Silvano Olave kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Phelipe Bezares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Suazo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Isadoro Ballugera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phelipe Bezares having to make a save. Hulberto Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dolfo Mijares in the 65th minute of the match. If Ordono Masses had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, AFC Wolfs's goalkeeper Hulberto Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Umea Igarza. The audience was convinced that Ordono Masses's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phelipe Bezares was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game.
