Roderigo Costeras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillerme Espejo having to interfere. In the 8th minute Gilberto Nuncibay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillerme Espejo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Criston Canel hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Ted Gobantes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guillerme Espejo. AC Libertad's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 15th minute, Roderigo Costeras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guillerme Espejo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in AC Libertad's zone, Gilberto Nuncibay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillerme Espejo came out of the goal and Gilberto Nuncibay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilberto Nuncibay might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guillerme Espejo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Nuncibay ran back to his position shaking his head. 29 minutes into the match, AC Libertad's Eutropio Benegas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santxol Espina narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eutropio Benegas was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Claretiano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cordeiro Medina to maneuver through the defense. Piearres Horquizar hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. With his leg Guillerme Espejo managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Claretiano FC's Roderigo Costeras fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to AC Libertad getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Norino Barrieta hit a great ball. In the 63rd match minute, AC Libertad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Criston Canel to maneuver through the defense. Roderigo Costeras recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerardo Rebolloso charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerardo Rebolloso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claretiano FC's Santxol Espina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eutropio Benegas in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Claretiano FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Piearres Horquizar hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Claretiano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Juvenal Colmenares came free, but Santxol Espina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santxol Espina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juvenal Colmenares's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Santxol Espina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal Colmenares, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Gilberto Nuncibay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Guillerme Espejo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Claretiano FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
