Froylan Labastida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Claretiano FC's zone, Froylan Labastida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santxol Espina came out of the goal and Froylan Labastida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santxol Espina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Porfirio Ponga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Froylan Labastida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Porfirio Ponga in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santxol Espina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Claretiano FC booed when Sapotal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnalt Riesco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Claretiano FC's Blasi Langayo got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Nuncibay in the 22nd minute of play forced Sapotal 's goalkeeper Omar Garriga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cordeiro Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Garriga having to interfere. Omar Garriga was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Gilberto Nuncibay capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilberto Nuncibay really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 33 minutes into the game, Froylan Labastida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Santxol Espina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Claretiano FC's Santxol Espina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Porfirio Ponga in the 41st minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Porfirio Ponga to make the kick off. Omar Garriga came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Claretiano FC's Roderigo Costeras. But to his dismay, Roderigo Costeras quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Claretiano FC's Cordeiro Medina got a free kick in the 57th minute. Santxol Espina was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Arnalt Riesco. Omar Garriga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roderigo Costeras in the 63rd minute of the match. Claretiano FC's Santxol Espina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Claretiano FC from getting a goal against them. The long shot by Palban Arnuero in the 70th minute really tested Santxol Espina's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 76th minute, Blasi Langayo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Claretiano FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Froylan Labastida in the 79th minute of play forced Claretiano FC's goalkeeper Santxol Espina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Iago Olea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santxol Espina was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gavino Ureta. Sapotal 's Omar Garriga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roderigo Costeras in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Claretiano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ted Gobantes to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 95 minutes, Froylan Labastida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sapotal 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Froylan Labastida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Porfirio Ponga got free with Santxol Espina in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santxol Espina made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Porfirio Ponga sent off a good shot on target. Sapotal 's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
