Playo Cavero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Nuncibay in the 20th minute of play. Santxol Espina made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Betadur Viladrosa sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Alianza Lima's zone, Cordeiro Medina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Playo Cavero came out of the goal and Cordeiro Medina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Roderigo Costeras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joam Bodes was the one to do the kick off. After 58 played minutes Claretiano FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Nuncibay. Betadur Viladrosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santxol Espina having to interfere. When Joam Bodes came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Alianza Lima fans jumped to their feet. After 88 minutes of play Alianza Lima's Gabrio Noguera was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Claretiano FC booed when Alianza Lima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabrio Noguera didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Nuncibay came free, but Playo Cavero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claretiano FC's Gilberto Nuncibay was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 93rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Claretiano FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
