The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Oscar Corono shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manni Betances saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute, Adalberto Gama hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fonda Alegria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominix Coronado in the 10th minute of the match. Sidoro Caldevila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dominix Coronado struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Fonda Alegria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alianza Lima. Oinaz Arripe's late challenge caught a Alianza Lima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oinaz Arripe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, FC Real Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oinaz Arripe to maneuver through the defense. Fonda Alegria came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Alianza Lima's Dominix Coronado. But to his dismay, Dominix Coronado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dominix Coronado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nayely Coria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eli Sella hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Fonda Alegria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominix Coronado in the 33rd minute of the match. If Dominix Coronado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dominix Coronado to make the kick off. Sidoro Caldevila in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fonda Alegria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fonda Alegria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominix Coronado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Oscar Corono came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the FC Real Barcelona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Corono couldn't finish the play. Manni Betances stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Corono's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. When Sidoro Caldevila came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Alianza Lima fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidoro Caldevila couldn't finish the play. Oinaz Arripe kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominix Coronado in the 69th minute of play forced FC Real Barcelona's goalkeeper Fonda Alegria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manni Betances showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Corono, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, FC Real Barcelona's goalkeeper Fonda Alegria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidoro Caldevila. During the 73rd minute of the match Oinaz Arripe completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Oinaz Arripe a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to FC Real Barcelona getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Oinaz Arripe hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the game, Eutor Montez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Real Barcelona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alianza Lima the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Real Barcelona fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 82 minutes, Alianza Lima's Gines Gaytan got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fonda Alegria. Eli Sella hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Nayely Coria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Manni Betances tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Alianza Lima's zone, Nayely Coria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manni Betances came out of the goal and Nayely Coria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Alianza Lima supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alianza Lima would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
