With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iyan Galindez in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludomir Opat saved Juan Aurich from getting behind. Iyan Galindez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludomir Opat having to interfere. Calisto Cianca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calisto Cianca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Henric Badiola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Arnulfo Peñuelas came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Juan Aurich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Peñuelas couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Juan Aurich's Isadoro Saz threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arnulfo Peñuelas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After the first half La Guaira were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iyan Galindez to strike the kick off in the second half. La Guaira's Isadoro Saz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnulfo Peñuelas in the 66th minute of play. Cresenciano Botbol scored 1-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isadoro Saz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arnulfo Peñuelas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isadoro Saz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Ludomir Opat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iyan Galindez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calisto Cianca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Iyan Galindez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ludomir Opat. That made the score 1-2 in the 81 minute of play. Calisto Cianca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arnulfo Peñuelas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calisto Cianca struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ludomir Opat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Guaira. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. La Guaira walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
