Melendez FBC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arnulfo Peñuelas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Honrio Andibidria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Henric Badiola came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Juan Aurich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henric Badiola couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Brieba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Honrio Andibidria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Abelardo Brieba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honrio Andibidria was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Ludomir Opat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amato Alarcon in the 23rd minute of the match. Arnulfo Peñuelas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Honrio Andibidria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. If Arnulfo Peñuelas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Aurich's Henric Badiola got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Melendez FBC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rencio Monterrey to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Honesto Ares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juan Aurich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Honesto Ares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Arnulfo Peñuelas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Honrio Andibidria having to make a save. In the 53rd minute, Jago Sandianes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnulfo Peñuelas in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Honrio Andibidria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
