Wilfredo Rancaño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taio Riba having to interfere. Ticmar's Taio Riba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Rancaño in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Delmiro Barrios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilfredo Rancaño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taio Riba having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rosalio Sancho was the one to do the kick off. If Rosalio Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The Fenix fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jago Baltuile should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 74 minutes into the game, when Laurin Hilari put in a rough tackle. Jago Baltuile showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Navedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The audience was convinced that Ladio Trarigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jago Baltuile was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Jago Baltuile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Lucas came free, but Jago Baltuile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
