After 18 played minutes Abtao FC got a freekick which was hit by Timoteo Perdomo. Abtao FC's Emanuel Sanchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Garnelo in the 20th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Pelaci in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Sanchez saved Abtao FC from getting behind. 25 minutes into the match, Abtao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Pelaci came free, but Emanuel Sanchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Osvaldo Pelaci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Hilario Garnelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute Osvaldo Pelaci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Sanchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 minutes, Isauro Regalado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alianza Lima and the Abtao FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Isauro Regalado hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The Abtao FC fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Abtao FC's Guifre Bono looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 42 minutes into the match, Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Olloa came free, but Gaueko Ustoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Alianza Lima's goalkeeper Gaueko Ustoa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guifre Bono. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Cristian Olloa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guifre Bono received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Gaueko Ustoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Timoteo Perdomo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaueko Ustoa was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Alianza Lima's Fabio Villavedon got a free kick in the 66th minute. Abtao FC's Guifre Bono got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timoteo Perdomo during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Alianza Lima's Huly Morras got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Emanuel Sanchez. 89 minutes into the game, Alianza Lima's Osvaldo Pelaci nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emanuel Sanchez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Alianza Lima's Gaueko Ustoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Olloa in the 95th minute of play. The Alianza Lima players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
