The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Denis Guiral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sancho Bengochea came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the ADT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sancho Bengochea couldn't finish the play. After 5 played minutes C.D. Nacional do Madeira got a freekick which was hit by Denis Guiral. Sancho Bengocheas short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Bieito Villarreal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ephraim Münstermann in the 11th minute of play forced ADT's goalkeeper Xeromo Rabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute Dag Ambjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xeromo Rabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sancho Bengochea hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Dag Ambjörnsson made a precise shot to the right of Xeromo Rabel. ADT's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 17th match minute, C.D. Nacional do Madeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Guiral to maneuver through the defense. Victorino Logares came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bieito Villarreal could save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Sancho Bengochea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bieito Villarreal. That made the score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ephraim Münstermann in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xeromo Rabel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bieito Villarreal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sancho Bengochea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xeromo Rabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Guiral in the 30th minute of the match. Roger Banzo kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Dag Ambjörnsson scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xeromo Rabel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nilmar Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to ADT getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Francesco Sociats hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Ephraim Münstermann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xeromo Rabel. ADT's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ephraim Münstermann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After 46 played minutes ADT got a freekick which was hit by Victorino Logares. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sancho Bengochea made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, one of C.D. Nacional do Madeira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for ADT. Sancho Bengochea stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bieito Villarreal. 2-3. In the 59th match minute, C.D. Nacional do Madeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dag Ambjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. Onbera Ripol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bieito Villarreal having to interfere. Bieito Villarreal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Logares, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 70 minutes in the game, Gilson Velloso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Xeromo Rabel having to interfere. C.D. Nacional do Madeira's Ephraim Münstermann suffered a concussion after 71 minutes and had to leave the field. After 72 minutes, Lando Lamiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ADT and the C.D. Nacional do Madeira players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ADT! In the 74th minute, Dag Ambjörnsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xeromo Rabel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Gilson Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Nilmar Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bieito Villarreal having to interfere. Tobias Gos charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tobias Gos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd minute, Tobias Gos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ADT made a substitution. Nikola Altares replaced Victorino Logares. Tobias Gos hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Salbatore Cocolina kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Gilson Velloso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Xeromo Rabel. The goal made the score 2-5. After having played for 96 minutes, Cristiano Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.D. Nacional do Madeira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Messi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 98 minutes into the match, C.D. Nacional do Madeira's goal looked a bit too open when Nikola Altares came free, but Bieito Villarreal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
