In the 3rd minute, Silban Val hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timoteo Lucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mon Postigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Mon Postigo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of San Leandro FC's Timoteo Lucero. Timoteo Lucero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the game, Mon Postigo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Timoteo Lucero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Mon Postigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, San Leandro FC's Tavio Junco got a free kick in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Universitario's Mon Postigo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Timoteo Lucero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 29th minute, Mon Postigo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universitario fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mon Postigo in the 32nd minute of play forced San Leandro FC's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Universitario's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Zambrano in the 34th minute. Universitario's Carlos Zambrano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Timoteo Lucero in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Timoteo Lucero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mon Postigo in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute of the game Bikendi Bezares made a throw-in which Bertin Molleda played forward. 41 minutes into the match, Mon Postigo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Timoteo Lucero. San Leandro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mon Postigo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. The Universitario fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Universitario's Mon Postigo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Universitario were leading 0-8. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mon Postigo made a kick off. Universitario's attentive Ebardo Buergo managed to snatch the ball when Bikendi Bezares made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. In the 56th match minute, San Leandro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silban Val to maneuver through the defense. Mon Postigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Timoteo Lucero made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Bikendi Bezares in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Universitario's Ebardo Buergo. In the 59th minute, Universitario's Mon Postigo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-10. In the 62nd minute Mon Postigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Lucero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Fernado Goite threw the ball into play from the sideline. Universitario's Eneto Barrachina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Universitario's Euloxu Rojas was substituted for Branislav Vitev. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Leandro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Zambrano was slow to take the kick. During this time Universitario's players had a chance to rest. San Leandro FC's Timoteo Lucero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save San Leandro FC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, San Leandro FC's Eguen Cavia got a free kick in the 73rd minute. A hard shot by Carlos Zambrano from long distance, 74 minutes into the match, got Timoteo Lucero's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 杜升强's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timoteo Lucero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Universitario's Lionel-Andrés Newell ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Timoteo Lucero. Timoteo Lucero yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-12. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lionel-Andrés Newell in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timoteo Lucero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lionel-Andrés Newell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timoteo Lucero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute of the match Universitario got a corner. San Leandro FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Zambrano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Universitario's Carlos Zambrano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Timoteo Lucero in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 杜升强 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bikendi Bezares charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bikendi Bezares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Universitario booed when San Leandro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bikendi Bezares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timoteo Lucero made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Lionel-Andrés Newell sent off a good shot on target. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Leandro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Zambrano was slow to take the kick. During this time Universitario's players had a chance to rest. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of San Leandro FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Universitario:s goal. The goalkeeper, Timoteo Lucero, was totally fooled by Universitario's Carlos Zambrano, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the final whistle sounded Universitario left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than San Leandro FC.
