Marcelito Gordo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Iosif Ficsinescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelito Gordo was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Su Valdes to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boris Apelquist in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelito Gordo saved Benedicto Estrada from getting behind. In the 54th match minute, Benedicto Estrada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Villamizar to maneuver through the defense. Sagrario Ajamil hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SpOrT ImPeRiAl .FC's zone, Stephen Betoño stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ospin Aberasturi came out of the goal and Stephen Betoño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind SpOrT ImPeRiAl .FC's goalkeeper Ospin Aberasturi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Su Valdes came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Benedicto Estrada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Su Valdes couldn't finish the play. After 64 played minutes SpOrT ImPeRiAl .FC got a freekick which was hit by Tanio Lazaeta. 65 minutes into the match, Benedicto Estrada's Sanson Meruelo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Boris Apelquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelito Gordo having to interfere. If Boris Apelquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iosif Ficsinescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelito Gordo having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Su Valdes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stephen Betoño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ospin Aberasturi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benedicto Estrada's Marcelito Gordo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iosif Ficsinescu in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute Boris Apelquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelito Gordo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Zoil Artolozaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute of the match Iosif Ficsinescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelito Gordo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
