If Ismael Noceda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Metafez F.C.'s Xosepin Ubidea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honesto Noguerol in the 18th minute of play. Rafe Imaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Shantala Mariña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Xarles Rascon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UNIVERSITARIO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Metafez F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, UNIVERSITARIO's Xarles Rascon got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Haitz Betoño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xosepin Ubidea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haitz Betoño in the 28th minute of the match. Metafez F.C.'s Xosepin Ubidea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haitz Betoño in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, UNIVERSITARIO's Haitz Betoño got a free kick in the 37th minute. When Xinaro Arriba fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UNIVERSITARIO's protests and gave Xinaro Arriba a yellow card for diving instead. Xinaro Arriba kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The throw-in from Lizer Villafuentes in the 45th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by UNIVERSITARIO's Chepe Moran. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafe Imaz to make the kick off. Xosepin Ubidea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haitz Betoño's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After 62 minutes, Haitz Betoño mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UNIVERSITARIO and the Metafez F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Metafez F.C. booed when UNIVERSITARIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haitz Betoño didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Haitz Betoño sped through Metafez F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Xosepin Ubidea. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by UNIVERSITARIO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lizer Villafuentes was slow to take the kick. During this time Metafez F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. With 85 minutes on the clock, Chepe Moran commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Ismael Noceda hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Beti Corniero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Shantala Mariña made a huge save. Enekoitz Failde recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
