After 24 played minutes CD Municipal got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Cassaretto. In the 26th minute, Aureliano Buendia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Municipal's goalkeeper George Forsyth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martino Armona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alexander Shaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Forsyth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Lapadula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half AC Papicho were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

AC Papicho made a substitution. Rodolfo Mora replaced Egun Lisundia. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gianluca Lapadula to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Enrique Cassaretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Shaw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martino Armona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander Shaw having to make a save. CD Municipal's Peter Haber was substituted for Evtim Kúrdzhev. Alexander Shaw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oalo Dean in the 67th minute of play. After 87 minutes, Ryota Miyagi made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. AC Papicho's Alexander Shaw tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 91st minute Ryota Miyagi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Shaw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AC Papicho's Alexander Shaw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oalo Dean in the 95th minute of play. After some careless play in the AC Papicho defense, Oalo Dean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Shaw. The AC Papicho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexander Shaw should have stopped the shot. CD Municipal's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
