Ramon Navarro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. María Chiquita's Reinaldo Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Navarro in the 6th minute of play. A collision led to Niupi FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Milton Villalobos hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Miguel Morales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. María Chiquita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Morales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guillermo Ulloa hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Gilberto De Gracia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Herbruger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Monchi Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto De Gracia having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, María Chiquita's Juan Herbruger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto De Gracia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Niupi FC's Gilberto De Gracia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Niupi FC from getting a goal against them. Juan Herbruger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Gilberto De Gracia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Monchi Gutierrez struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Gilberto De Gracia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for María Chiquita. The audience was convinced that Romel Vergara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reinaldo Pérez was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The supporters of María Chiquita booed when Niupi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Arauz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Juan Herbruger took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gilberto De Gracia to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Herbruger made a kick off. In the 54th minute Juan Herbruger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto De Gracia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 57 minutes, Monchi Gutierrez made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Niupi FC's Gilberto De Gracia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilberto De Gracia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Herbruger in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute of the match Miguel Morales sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilberto De Gracia skillfully saved the ball. María Chiquita's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
