Juan Peren shot from long distance in the 24th minute, but Guillermo Oberto was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Michael Wicks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shimizu S-Pulse F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Wicks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Pérez charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Kléberson de Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shimizu S-Pulse F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Santiago De Veraguas F.C.'s Gabriel Briceño proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Santiago De Veraguas F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute, Michael Wicks reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gabriel Briceño. The goal made the score 0-3. 61 minutes into the match, Santiago De Veraguas F.C.'s goalkeeper Gabriel Briceño had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kléberson de Mendonça. After some careless play in the Shimizu S-Pulse F.C defense, Rafael Muñoz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guillermo Oberto. The Shimizu S-Pulse F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guillermo Oberto should have stopped the shot. If Vismantas Garlauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Michael Wicks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Monchi Tello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michael Wicks in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Briceño saved Santiago De Veraguas F.C. from getting behind. Jonathan Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vismantas Garlauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Santiago De Veraguas F.C.'s Rafael Muñoz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guillermo Oberto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pawel Tuliszewski kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Jonathan Pérez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shimizu S-Pulse F.C played a much better game than Santiago De Veraguas F.C. and deserved their victory. The Santiago De Veraguas F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
