The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rolando Dely sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Dely struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Jose Chavez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Robledal F.C.. After a rather tough play, Cerro Punta's Juan De Diego got a free kick in the 15th minute. With a little luck, Cerro Punta's Jose Chavez got control of the ball when Jonathan Escalona tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 17th play minutes Jonathan Escalona shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Jose Chavez and just under the crossbar into goal. 2-0 became the score in the 20th minute when Jonathan Escalona elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Luis Corral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute, Rafael García hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cerro Punta's Fabio González in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Robledal F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. José Castillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Corral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 played minutes Robledal F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Murillo. Raul Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raul Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Cerro Punta a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ramón Rios, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Robledal F.C.'s José Castillo. 2-1. The supporters of Robledal F.C. booed when Cerro Punta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan De Diego didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Rolando Dely received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Jose Chavez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Escalona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Chavez having to interfere. If Fabio González had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cerro Punta's Jose Chavez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Dely in the 59th minute of play. Robledal F.C.'s José Castillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Robledal F.C. from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Robledal F.C.'s zone, Luis Corral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Castillo came out of the goal and Luis Corral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabio González sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Henríguez kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. José Castillo made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Fabio González sent off a good shot on target. After 73 minutes, Ricardo Posam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerro Punta and the Robledal F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cerro Punta getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ricardo Posam hit a great ball. If Rolando Dely had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Chavez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Dely, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robledal F.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cerro Punta for a fine match.
