Wiliam Carranza, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Colon's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel De Leon came free, but Tomaso Aizprua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomaso Urane got free with Beto Mota in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gabriel De Leon took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomaso Aizprua. Tomaso Aizprua dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Tomaso Urane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beto Mota stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Palma's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Gabriel De Leon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.INDEPENDIENTE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel De Leon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomaso Aizprua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel De Leon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tomaso Urane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel De Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomaso Aizprua having to interfere. Gabriel De Leon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, Colon's Tomaso Aizprua got control of the ball when Heraclides Escobar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Victor Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Palma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute Wilfredo Vergara suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 74 minutes, Tomaso Urane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colon and the C.A.INDEPENDIENTE players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 75 played minutes Colon got a freekick which was hit by Tomaso Urane. Tomaso Aizprua made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Heraclides Escobar sent off a good shot on target. Tomaso Urane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Beto Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beto Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Palma in the 89th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
