Beto Smith could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Romel Jaen made a huge save. With a little luck, Llano De Piedra's Romel Jaen got control of the ball when Beto Smith tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Llano De Piedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Batista to maneuver through the defense. Llano De Piedra's Romel Jaen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro Gomez in the 25th minute of play. The supporters of Aguadulce F.C. booed when Llano De Piedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolás Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beto Smith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romel Jaen having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Alejandro Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romel Jaen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a rather tough play, Aguadulce F.C.'s Beto Smith got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Llano De Piedra's zone, Alejandro Gomez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romel Jaen came out of the goal and Alejandro Gomez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 65 minutes, Giancarlo Ríos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Llano De Piedra and the Aguadulce F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Giancarlo Ríos hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Smith in the 71st minute of play forced Llano De Piedra's goalkeeper Romel Jaen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alejandro Gomez in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romel Jaen saved Llano De Piedra from getting behind.
