When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Giancarlo Carranza took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Alejandro Morris to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Agua Buena's Giancarlo Carranza got a free kick in the 14th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toto Posam in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Posam saved Agua Buena from getting behind. Toto Posam hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Nacional's Åke Asmundsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Posam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Pérez came free, but Alejandro Morris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Giancarlo Carranza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agua Buena's supporters rose to their feet, but Giancarlo Carranza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejandro Morris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th match minute, Club Atletico Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toto Posam to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Pérez in the 30th minute of play forced Club Atletico Nacional's goalkeeper Alejandro Morris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Agua Buena got a freekick which was hit by Sergio González. Gilberto Posam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Nuñez in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Club Atletico Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josef Mellbad to maneuver through the defense. José Batista was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Agua Buena booed when Club Atletico Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Trejos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 played minutes Agua Buena got a freekick which was hit by Giancarlo Agurto. In the 45th minute Gabriel Nuñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Posam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Posam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Spadafora in the 46th minute of the match.
Åke Asmundsson spun around in front of the goal 54 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Agua Buena's goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulpiano Gómez during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ulpiano Gómez kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After having played for 61 minutes, Åke Asmundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Asmundsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Gilberto Posam managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Club Atletico Nacional's Guillermo Spadafora fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 66th minute, Gabriel Nuñez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alejandro Morris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Pérez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andres Brandao kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Åke Asmundsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Nuñez in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Posam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gilberto Posam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Spadafora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Beto Pérez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 81 minutes, Giancarlo Carranza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agua Buena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giancarlo Carranza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Agua Buena's goalkeeper Gilberto Posam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felipe Urane hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Agua Buena's zone, Gabriel Nuñez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Posam came out of the goal and Gabriel Nuñez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute Emanuel Pérez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Morris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
