Ailigandí's Franklin Quirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolás Lozano in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th match minute, Ailigandí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Mendieta to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolás Mendieta during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nicolás Mendieta hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Ailigandí's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolás Lozano came free, but Franklin Quirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ailigandí's Lorenzo Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Los Pollos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ailigandí:s goal. The goalkeeper, Luis García, was totally fooled by Ailigandí's José Torrijos, who 42 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Gilberto Barrera who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Luis García when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lorenzo Ramos was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Quirós in the 55th minute of play forced Ailigandí's goalkeeper Franklin Quirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Lorenzo Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lorenzo Ramos took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luis García. Luis García dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Lorenzo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis García having to interfere. Los Pollos's Luis García played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Ramos in the 93rd minute of play. Luis García made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Totín Henriguez in the 96th minute of play. Ailigandí's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
