Francesco Pinilla hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Tomaso Castro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sergio De Diego. Nombre De Dios's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Orlando Navarro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sergio De Diego, 1-0. Martín Amaya struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Victor Henriguez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nombre De Dios. After having played for 23 minutes, Orlando Navarro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerro Punta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Navarro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 24 played minutes Nombre De Dios got a freekick which was hit by Francesco Pinilla . Orlando Navarro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Max Corral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Nombre De Dios's Sergio De Diego got control of the ball when Max Corral tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nombre De Dios's Rafael De Diego got a free kick in the 39th minute. Orlando Navarro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sergio De Diego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Max Corral might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergio De Diego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Max Corral ran back to his position shaking his head. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martín Amaya to make the kick off. Sergio De Diego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Max Corral went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Martín Amaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Cerro Punta's goalkeeper Victor Henriguez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Monchi Ortega. After a rather tough play, Cerro Punta's Wiliam Ortiz got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
