Alexander Sobenis was slow to take the kick. During this time Cañazas's players had a chance to rest. Alexander Sobenis made a great header on Cañazas's corner, it was just that Mata Del Nance's Elias Zapata managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Cañazas booed when Mata Del Nance was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonidas Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Orlando Barrera made the kick off in the second half. Orlando Barrera scored 2-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elias Zapata, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Orlando Barrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Zapata having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calito Moreno in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ramón Trejos saved Cañazas from getting behind. In the 61st minute Reggie Mendoza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Zapata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Totin Gonzalez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Trejos having to interfere. Calito Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ramón Trejos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Orlando Barrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cañazas's Ramón Trejos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calito Moreno in the 92nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Calito Moreno took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Ramón Trejos to make any attempt to save it. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
