Spectators: 6779 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Manuel Quirós made the kick off which started today's match. Fabio Oberto made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Alexander Ramirez sent off a good shot on target. Cermeño F.C.'s Edgardo Torrijos got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Valle Del Risco F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Azael Sobenis shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valle Del Risco F.C.'s goalkeeper Martín González, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valle Del Risco F.C.'s Martín González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Torrijos in the 29th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Hermes Urane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgardo Torrijos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgardo Torrijos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgardo Torrijos in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martín González prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute, Edgardo Torrijos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cermeño F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The Valle Del Risco F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cermeño F.C. were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgardo Torrijos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Valle Del Risco F.C.'s goalkeeper Martín González had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Alfaro. 55 minutes into the match, Valle Del Risco F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Torrijos came free, but Martín González reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Manuel Quirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Oberto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 62 played minutes Cermeño F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Villarreal. The supporters of Valle Del Risco F.C. booed when Cermeño F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Henriguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Quirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Fabio Oberto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexander Ramirez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Manuel Quirós notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Cermeño F.C.'s Fabio Oberto. Fabio Oberto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 77 minutes of play Valle Del Risco F.C.'s Hermes Palma was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Valle Del Risco F.C.'s Hermes Palma got a free kick in the 78th minute. Orlando Villarreal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rafael Alfaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Martín González made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Cermeño F.C.'s zone, Manuel Quirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Oberto came out of the goal and Manuel Quirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cermeño F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
