San Blas's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Zambrano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Orozco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Rolando Villalaz kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Alberto Peralta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonidas Lozano hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of San Blas booed when Atalaya F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heraclides Diaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrés Chavez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute Lorenzo Toledano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose De Leon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atalaya F.C.'s Miguel Orozco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Peralta in the 87th minute of play. Ivan Tijero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose De Leon having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
