In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind La Mitra's goalkeeper Giancarlo Vergara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Ramón De Leon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Max De Leon struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Beto Zambrano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Mitra. 26 minutes into the match, San Jose United's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastián Peralta came free, but Beto Zambrano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastián Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Beto Zambrano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. San Jose United's Beto Zambrano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monchi Escobar in the 32nd minute of play. After 36 played minutes San Jose United got a freekick which was hit by Max Quiros. La Mitra's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ricardo De Paredes in the 39th minute. After taking down the ball on La Mitra's corner Ricardo De Paredes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Beto Zambrano quite easily take care of the ball. Gilberto Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match La Mitra got a corner. San Jose United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ricardo De Paredes ran over to the corner to take the kick. La Mitra's Ricardo De Paredes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Beto Zambrano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sebastián Peralta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Zambrano having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Javier Gomez hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Ramón Oberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Batista struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Giancarlo Vergara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Jose United. Ramón Oberto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giancarlo Vergara having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Gilberto Batista put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Giancarlo Vergara. Sebastián Peralta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. La Mitra's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Julio García took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giancarlo Vergara. La Mitra's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sebastián Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Beto Zambrano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 played minutes San Jose United got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Oberto. Beto Zambrano was a little too slow when Monchi Escobar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
