The Sioguí Arriba fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Sioguí Arriba's Emanuel Mora looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 15th minute, Cesar Mora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonidas Herrera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reinaldo Briceño's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Leonidas Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Mendoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reinaldo Briceño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonidas Herrera having to make a save. Julio Trejos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Monchi Quirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Mora in the 28th minute of play forced Entradero's goalkeeper Monchi Quirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Trejos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emanuel Mora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 played minutes Entradero got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Corral. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Trejos got free with Monchi Quirós in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 37 played minutes, Entradero's Matias Chavez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonidas Herrera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Entradero reached it. Monchi Quirós made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Julio Trejos sent off a good shot on target. Sioguí Arriba's Julio Trejos got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emanuel Mora stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Trejos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Trejos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Monchi Quirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 minutes, Jose Jaen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Entradero and the Sioguí Arriba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Entradero's Jose Jaen got a free kick in the 60th minute. Entradero's Monchi Quirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Trejos in the 74th minute of play. Monchi Quirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Mora in the 75th minute of the match. Monchi Quirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Trejos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Emanuel Mora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Entradero's Rigoberto Mendoza got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Trejos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Mora's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Monchi Quirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
