Alexis Villalaz guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Max Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Zapata, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Ustupo's Alejandro Murillo got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ustupo's Max Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Zapata in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Pablo Trejos notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Sioguí Arriba F.C.'s Alexis Villalaz. Alexis Villalaz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st match minute, Ustupo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Henríguez to maneuver through the defense. Max Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Pérez in the 23rd minute of the match. Pablo Trejos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Orlando Fernández received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Alexis Villalaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, one of Ustupo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Julio Zapata shot the penalty kick right outside the post. A collision led to Sioguí Arriba F.C. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. José Pinilla hit a great ball. Orlando Henríguez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Pablo Trejos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexis Villalaz having to make a save. Orlando Fernández fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexis Villalaz having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Martín Pérez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Zapata was the one to do the kick off. If Alex Zapata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute Orlando Fernández shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexis Villalaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexis Villalaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Trejos in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th minute, Jonathan Ramírez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Max Batista made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Martín Pérez sent off a good shot on target. Orlando Fernández sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexis Villalaz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pablo Trejos went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score.
