After 14 minutes, Cheito Caballero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penonomé F.C. and the El Roble F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Penonomé F.C. getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Cheito Caballero hit a great ball. If Moisés Pérez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Américo De Gracia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Zapata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Américo De Gracia came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Penonomé F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo De Gracia couldn't finish the play. Cheito Caballero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Cesar Zapata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Chavez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Fernandez having to interfere. The Penonomé F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Pérez in the 64th minute of play forced Penonomé F.C.'s goalkeeper Gustavo Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Penonomé F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolando Chavez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Penonomé F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for El Roble F.C..
