After 30 minutes, Mario Arias made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Santa Fé's Eduardo Gonzalez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jose Sobenis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Gonzalez having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jose Sobenis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduardo Gonzalez was relentless in the 44th minute of the game.
